Patent drugs are the proprietary drugs and are registered trademarks which are dually patented by FDA for their chemical structure, their formula, and their brand name. The company which files these patents gets the exclusive rights to manufacture or market it. Other companies cannot produce any drug with similar chemical formula and brand name neither they can market it.
